Job description

To join its international team, Yoursafe is seeking to hire a

Head of Hardware

Full-Time Position

About Yoursafe

At Yoursafe, we believe that everyone deserves access to safe and easy financial services, wherever they are. Our mission is to build financial tools that empower people, especially those who are new to a country or outside the traditional banking system. We combine solid financial expertise with smart technology to make everyday money management simple, secure, and fair.

The Role

Behind Yoursafe’s products sits a rapidly growing estate of physical infrastructure, spread across the globe. Today this consists of four worlds: our global DNS infrastructure, running in seven datacenter locations worldwide together with the network switches that connect them; a high-density fleet of 200+ Apple Mac minis in our Dutch datacenter environment; a fast-growing fleet of Android payment terminals of Yoursafe Pay, installed at merchants in retail and hospitality and connected through Eero Wi-Fi networks that we manage; and, closest to home, the office LAN in Amsterdam with the laptops, workstations and 57-inch screens our own people work on every day.

We are looking for a Head of Hardware to take end-to-end ownership of all of it. Your mandate is crisp: every device we own (server, switch, Mac mini, payment terminal, access point, laptop, workstation, screen) is inventoried, connected, monitored, patched and running a healthy operating system, anywhere in the world, at all times. Network uptime is your headline metric: our services only exist as long as the infrastructure underneath them stays reachable. Where your responsibility ends is equally clear: the application layer belongs to others. Our DNS team runs the software on the servers, our AI team runs the agent workloads on the Mac minis, and Yoursafe Pay owns merchant and terminal configuration. They build on top of your platform, and you make sure that platform never lets them down.

This is a senior, hands-on role, not a people-management job. With modern automation and AI tooling, a single sharp owner can run an estate like this: you script, monitor and automate wherever you can, direct remote-hands partners and hardware vendors around the world for the physical work, and collaborate closely with our field service and Apple fleet engineers. You are also the single person our management team (including the CSO) can turn to for the state of every physical asset we operate. As a licensed EMI, that accountability matters: asset management, patch discipline and access control are part of the product here.

Your responsibilities:

Global Server & Network Infrastructure

  • Own the full hardware lifecycle of our DNS infrastructure across seven datacenter locations worldwide: servers, switches, out-of-band management, spare-parts logistics and capacity planning.
  • Guard the uptime of the network infrastructure as your primary metric, with monitoring and alerting that spots degradation before anyone else does.
  • Keep firmware, operating systems and network configuration current and secure across all locations, coordinating maintenance windows with the DNS team so their services never notice.
  • Contract and direct remote-hands partners at each location, so hardware failures anywhere in the world are resolved in hours, not weeks.

Device Fleets: Mac minis & Payment Terminals

  • Carry final responsibility for the 200+ Mac mini fleet: physical infrastructure, MDM baseline, OS updates and connectivity, delivered as a rock-solid platform to the AI team.
  • Carry final responsibility for the Yoursafe Pay terminal estate: Android devices, OS and firmware versions, and the managed Eero networks they depend on, with a clean handover line to Pay operations, who own merchant and terminal IDs.
  • Standardize rollout, replacement and repair processes so a new location (a merchant, a rack, a batch of Mac minis) goes live predictably every time.

Office IT & Local LAN

  • Own the local LAN and workplace hardware at our Amsterdam office: laptops, workstations and the 57-inch screens our teams work on.
  • Guarantee that every one of our 35+ colleagues always has a working laptop with a healthy, up-to-date operating system. Our people know what they are doing on their machines; the availability of those machines is your direct responsibility.
  • Run the full workplace lifecycle: procurement, enrollment and imaging, replacement, and secure decommissioning of equipment, as you would expect at a regulated financial institution.

Automation, Vendors & Accountability

  • Automate yourself out of the repetitive work: use scripting, monitoring and AI tooling so the estate largely runs itself and your attention goes to the exceptions.
  • Establish one source of truth for every asset we own (location, owner, configuration state, patch level) and the monitoring and alerting that goes with it.
  • Manage hardware vendors and remote-hands contracts, and act as the accountable counterpart for audits and regulatory questions on physical infrastructure.

You are:

  • A senior infrastructure specialist with proven experience running physical infrastructure at scale: datacenters, networks and/or large device fleets, ideally across multiple countries.
  • Technically credible across the whole estate: Linux servers and switching on one side, MDM-managed device fleets (macOS, Android) and Wi-Fi networking on the other.
  • An automation-first thinker: you would rather build a self-healing pipeline or point an AI agent at a problem than solve the same ticket twice.
  • Highly structured and inventory-minded; you understand why a regulated financial institution needs to know exactly where every device is and what runs on it.
  • Comfortable with clear interfaces: you deliver working hardware, networks and operating systems, and hold the line where application teams take over.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to our datacenter locations within the Netherlands, with Amsterdam as your base.

What we offer:

  • A senior role with genuine end-to-end ownership of a unique, worldwide hardware estate.
  • A fast-scaling international fintech with real infrastructure, licenses, and products.
  • Competitive salary and employment conditions.
  • A modern office in Amsterdam Houthavens overlooking ‘Het IJ’.
  • Daily healthy lunches prepared by our in-house chef.
  • A culture that values execution, ownership, and long-term thinking.
