AutoCAD Draftsman

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented AutoCAD Draftsman to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing technical drawings, shop drawings, production drawings, ceiling layouts, and other project-related drawings based on architectural and engineering requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D drafting, with experience in preparing detailed drawings for manufacturing, installation, and construction purposes.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse design concepts and information provided by architects, engineers, and project teams.
• Prepare shop drawings, installation drawings, production drawings, and detailed construction drawings as per project and client requirements.
• Convert design sketches and concepts into accurate working drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare ceiling layouts, panelization drawings, component drawings, and detailed fixing drawings.
• Prepare 3D models, assembly drawings, and blow-up/detail drawings for complicated fixing and mounting arrangements where required.
• Prepare technical/submittal drawings for client and consultant approval.
• Prepare quantity take-offs and BOQs based on approved drawings and project requirements.
• Prepare detailed production drawings for manufacturing based on approved shop drawings.
• Revise and update drawings based on client, consultant, site, or production requirements.
• Review drawings carefully to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate with internal departments, production teams, site teams, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
• Provide technical support and clarification to internal teams through phone, email, and online communication.
• Maintain proper drawing revisions and documentation.
• Ensure all drawings are prepared with excellent attention to detail and within the required project timelines.
• Knowledge of additional software related to design, drafting, 3D modelling, and quantity/data extraction will be an advantage.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D drafting; and knowledge of 3D modelling.
• Good knowledge of technical drawing, manual drafting, and sketching.
• Good understanding of shop drawings, production drawings, installation drawings, and construction details.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas for dimensional calculations and BOQ preparation.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Candidates with experience in partitions, false ceilings, interior fit-out, facade, complex profiling, or related construction works will be preferred.
