Job Summary
The Landscaping Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of the resort’s gardens, lawns, outdoor areas, water features, and other landscaped spaces. The role ensures that all landscaping elements are maintained to the highest standards, reflecting Banyan Tree’s commitment to luxury, aesthetics, environmental sustainability, and local cultural relevance. The position involves leading the landscaping team, managing contractors and suppliers, overseeing maintenance activities, and ensuring efficient use of resources and budget.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee the overall design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the resort’s landscaped areas, ensuring they consistently meet Banyan Tree’s standards for luxury, aesthetics, and presentation.

Collaborate with the design, engineering, operations, and other relevant departments to develop and implement landscaping projects that enhance the overall guest experience.

Ensure all landscape designs and planting schemes reflect the resort’s brand standards, local environment, cultural relevance, and sustainability objectives.

Lead, supervise, and motivate the landscaping team, ensuring employees are properly trained, adequately equipped, and follow established horticultural and maintenance practices.

Develop and implement preventive and routine maintenance plans for all landscaping areas, including irrigation, planting, pruning, fertilization, pest control, soil management, and seasonal requirements.

Ensure appropriate seasonal adjustments are made to planting, maintenance, and irrigation programs to maintain the aesthetic quality of the resort throughout the year.

Implement sustainable landscaping practices, including water conservation, efficient irrigation, soil health improvement, native and suitable plant selection, responsible waste management, and reduction of environmental impact.

Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers for the procurement of plants, landscaping materials, equipment, tools, and specialist services.

Monitor the quality of materials, plants, equipment, and services provided by vendors and contractors, ensuring they meet the required standards and specifications.

Manage the landscaping department’s budget, monitor expenditures, control operational costs, and ensure resources are used efficiently and responsibly.

Maintain accurate records of landscaping activities, maintenance schedules, inventory, equipment, plant materials, budgets, and contractor performance, and provide reports to management as required.

Identify potential landscaping, safety, environmental, or operational issues and take appropriate corrective action to maintain high standards across the resort.

Ensure all landscaping activities comply with resort policies, health and safety standards, environmental requirements, and applicable local regulations.

Perform any other duties as assigned by management to support the effective operation of the landscaping department and the resort as a whole

Previous experience in a Landscaping Manager, or similar landscaping management role, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, or hospitality environment.

Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscape maintenance, irrigation systems, plant care, soil management, pest control, and outdoor environmental management.

Experience in managing and supervising landscaping teams, contractors, suppliers, and external service providers.

Knowledge and practical experience in sustainable landscaping practices, water conservation, native planting, soil improvement, and environmentally responsible maintenance methods.

Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to develop maintenance schedules, prioritize tasks, manage projects, and meet operational requirements.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with guests, colleagues, management, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
