Job description

Senior Manager, Clean Energy Valuations and Transactions Consultant

Location: Berlin (Hybrid)

Overview

I'm recruiting for an energy advisory practice that runs valuation, financial modelling and transaction support for developers, investors and industrials across the clean energy sector. The team isn't tied to a single technology or project type, and it often leads both commercial and technical due diligence on the same deal, so I'm looking for someone who can hold both sides rather than sitting purely on the numbers.

Responsibilities

  • Build and manage integrated project finance models, including NPV, IRR, debt sizing, DSCR, scenario, and sensitivity analysis.
  • Conduct commercial and technical due diligence on acquisitions and investments, evaluating capex, opex, operational assumptions, and project value drivers.
  • Develop business cases, feasibility studies, and investment appraisals for presentation to boards and investment committees.
  • Collaborate with engineering, commercial, and finance stakeholders to deliver comprehensive insights.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior client decision-makers, ensuring clarity and actionable outcomes.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in clean energy valuations, financial modelling, or transaction advisory, gained from a consultancy, advisory firm, IPP, fund, or investment bank.
  • A proven track record of developing integrated financial models for real energy infrastructure projects.
  • Hands-on experience conducting due diligence on live transactions, addressing both commercial and technical aspects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including VBA and macros, with expertise in three-statement or project finance modelling.
  • Fluency in both German and English.

Additional Skills (Preferred but Not Essential):

  • An engineering or technical background to support credibility on the technical due diligence side.
  • Exposure to emerging technologies such as hydrogen, battery energy storage systems (BESS), offshore wind, or industrial decarbonisation.
  • Relevant certifications such as FMVA or equivalent project finance training.

Benefits

  • A dynamic and collaborative work environment at the forefront of the clean energy transition.
  • Opportunities to work on diverse and impactful projects across multiple technologies.
  • Professional development and training to enhance your expertise in financial modelling and transaction advisory.
  • A competitive compensation package, including benefits and performance-based incentives.
  • Flexibility with a hybrid working model, allowing you to balance office and remote work.

If you are ready to make a meaningful impact in the clean energy sector and possess the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to apply. Join us in shaping a sustainable future!
