The Role

The Data Analytics unit translates data into actionable insights and visualisations. The unit provides data support for key strategic and organisational transformation projects including business insights to business leaders. The unit strives to automate data extracts, reports, and dashboards to the fullest extent possible.

The job holder will be responsible for turning data into knowledge that empowers our organization to make data-driven decisions. The job holder will work closely with various units to identify their data needs, gather and analyze relevant information, and translate complex findings into clear and concise reports, dashboards, and visualizations.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders across different departments to understand their data needs and challenges.
• Translate business requirements into specific data queries and analyses.
• Utilize SQL and other data manipulation tools to extract, clean, and transform data from various sources.
• Perform data analysis using statistical methods and data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
• Develop and maintain insightful reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate data stories.
• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.
• Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of data translators, ensuring they deliver high-quality communication and analysis.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the team's skills and knowledge in data translation and communication.
• Manage team workload, set performance objectives, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Person Specification

• 3+ years of experience in BI and data analytics or related.
• Experience with data visualization tools (PBI, tableau.
• Experience with BI tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, SAS, Tableau, PowerBI, Python).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Graduate in Business Administration, IT, Data Science or related field - Essential
