About the Job

EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG is looking for a Business Analyst – EDI & Market Communications to support and further develop business processes, interfaces, and services for the energy supplier market role. The position sits within EnBW Utility Services and focuses on electronic data exchange, regulatory requirements, process optimization, and digital transformation.

The role is remote/home-office friendly and can also be offered with part-time and workation options, subject to applicable conditions.

About the Role

You will analyze and design business processes, interfaces, and services related to market communication and continuously improve them. A key part of the role is evaluating regulatory changes, translating them into system requirements, and implementing necessary adjustments.

You will also work with SQL, EDIFACT messages, APIs, ERP systems, automation, and AI solutions, while collaborating closely with internal departments, IT teams, testing and migration teams, and external market partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and design business processes, interfaces, and services for the supplier market role.
  • Continuously improve market communication processes and services.
  • Create and prepare targeted SQL database queries.
  • Evaluate new regulatory and business requirements.
  • Translate regulatory changes into necessary system adjustments.
  • Analyze EDIFACT messages and identify opportunities for automation.
  • Support the development and implementation of AI-based solutions.
  • Take responsibility for work packages within projects.
  • Collaborate with testing, migration, and training teams.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare process documentation and training materials.
  • Conduct information sessions and training for business departments.
  • Communicate complex technical and regulatory topics clearly to different audiences.

Qualifications

  • Completed university or university of applied sciences degree in:
  • Business Informatics
  • Business Administration
  • Energy Management
  • Engineering
  • or a comparable field.
  • Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
  • Several years of experience in the energy industry, particularly market communication and EDI.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory process requirements from the German Federal Network Agency, especially GPKE, GeLi Gas, and WiM.
  • Very good knowledge of EDIFACT and API format specifications, including AHB and MIG.
  • Good SQL skills and understanding of database structures.
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing business processes.
  • Ability to work independently, reliably, and in a structured manner.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

About the Team

The position is part of EnBW Utility Services, which provides energy-industry processing and system solutions. The Datenaustausch team is responsible for the operational processing and optimization of electronic EDIFACT data exchange between market participants and market roles.

The team serves as a central data-exchange hub for various end-to-end energy-industry processes and works extensively with external market partners as well as internal business and IT teams.
