Job Description:

General Description:

The Senior Manager/Manager, Clinical Supply Chain, Clinical Supply Chain manages drug supply activities related to the management of drugs (both drug products and commercially sourced).  Actively coordinates plans for drugs delivery and materials for continuous supply to patients while reducing risk and minimizing waste.  Collaborates with Clinical Supply Chain internal stakeholders and procurement to meet deliverables.  Has a working knowledge of clinical supply best practices, as well as experience working within a cGMP environment. Works with management to develop and implement process improvements to build the organization for the future.

Essential Functions:

Partners with the Clinical Supply Chain Leads to understand drug requirements for clinical studies.

Collaborates with stakeholders such as and not limited to global procurement to collate information gathered from vendors for availability of drug on the market.

Supports to facilitate responses between the Supply Chain Lead and procurement teams in support of delivery for the required comparators on time.

Supports the Supply Chain team in obtaining information required for label and component sizing and development.

Maintains tracking of target delivery to CMOs supporting release activities.

Provides updates to the GCSC team material status including but not limited to delivery status.

Responsible for investigation of exceptions to determine root causes, implement CAPAs and drive closure.

Develop sourcing strategies to maximize supply efficiency, minimize waste while identifying risk and develop risk mitigation plans

Lead cross functional projects and process improvements related to drug and/or material supply.

Assist in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures.

Additional responsibilities as required.

Leads staff who are in supportive roles for supply planning and business process development

Notify Management of potential business issues that may affect project timelines. 

Establish work priorities to meet targets and timelines. 

Work independently, developing and leading process improvements for a variety of complex and advanced technical problems and initiatives for self as well as for department. 

Qualification Required:

Education Required:

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or similar education required.

5-8 years’ progressive experience in Supply Chain preferably within the biotech, pharmaceutical, CRO, industry.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of global clinical trials and the drug development process.

  • Experience in vendor oversight and managing external partnerships and relations.

  • Understands comprehensive global pharmaceutical regulatory requirements (e.g. cGMP, GDP, and GCP).

  • Experience in deviation investigation and CAPA implementation.

  • Knowledge of IRT system setup and functionality and proficiency with Excel modeling.

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

  • Strong collaboration and excellent team skills to be successful in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
