Your Role

Contribute to the development of next-generation lens designs for ZEISS ophthalmic lenses

Develop and assess optical concepts for spectacle lenses with a focus on visual performance, product relevance, and customer benefit

Collaborate with research teams to translate scientific findings into design concepts and appropriate laboratory validation approaches

Support wearer trials and contribute to the interpretation and communication of study results

Support claim generation and substantiation in alignment with product management requirements and product positioning

Accompany product development activities through key phases up to market introduction especially for the XRX business segment

Represent the ZEISS Vision Care Lens Design team in selected external expert settings, including trade fairs and scientific conferences

Your Profile

University degree in physics, optics, optometry, ophthalmic optics, vision science, engineering, or a comparable scientific discipline. PhD is appreciated

Initial experience or strong interest in optical design, visual optics, spectacle lens design, ophthalmic products, or applied vision science

Ability to analyze complex scientific and technical topics and translate them into practical, product-oriented solutions

Strong motivation to work in an interdisciplinary environment across research, product management, development, and testing functions

Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented working style

Confident communication skills in English; German language skills are an advantage

Interest in communicating technical topics in internal and external expert forums
