Job description

Role - Data and Graph Platform Engineer

Location - Abu Dhabi

Salary - 18K AED

Owns the data layer across relational and graph stores, and the Kubernetes infrastructure that

runs them.

Project Scope: Supports multiple concurrent platform initiatives within Digital Cloud

Infrastructure Engineering, including the Internal Developer Platform, alongside other cloud

infrastructure and data platform projects. Not limited to a single initiative.

Primary Stack- PostgreSQL, FalkorDB, Neo4j, Kubernetes

Required Skills

• Strong PostgreSQL administration and performance tuning background.

• Graph database modeling and Cypher query experience, on Neo4j and FalkorDB.

• Kubernetes operations experience specific to stateful services, including storage,

backups, and operators.

• Judgment for when graph traversal outperforms relational joins, and vice versa.

Preferred Skills

• Experience comparing or migrating between FalkorDB and Neo4j.

• Data pipeline or ETL experience.

• Exposure to service catalog or CMDB style graph modeling.

• Basic Go experience and gRPC familiarity is a bonus, though not required.

Responsibilities

• Administer and tune PostgreSQL for reliability and performance, including backups,

replication, indexing strategy, and capacity planning.

• Model and query graph data using Cypher, on Neo4j and FalkorDB.

• Model software catalog style data, covering entities, ownership, and dependency

relationships, to support catalog visualization and impact analysis for internal platform

tools.

• Advise other engineers on when a domain should be modeled as a graph versus a

relational schema.

• Operate stateful workloads on Kubernetes, including StatefulSets, persistent volumes,

storage classes, and database operators.

• Support schema design and query optimization across relational and graph paradigms

for the wider team.
