Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field.

• 5 years of experience in application development using Oracle Databases.

• 5 years’ experience with Oracle Application Express.

• Ideally, have Oracle Certified DB Professional (OCP) certificate.

• Have experience in administering database platform specific advanced features (e.g. clustering, encryption, logical/physical standby, ETL, replication)

• Experience should include DB design (modelling and normalization), capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, Data Partitioning, back-up and recovery, managing schemas, data security, report generation and DB clustering technologies, creating and configuring 24x7 highly- available databases.

• Extensive UNIX/LINUX experience

• Architecture design principles.

• Hands on experience with DB standards and end user applications-translating capacity requirements

into infrastructure deployment technology.

• Strong practical experience of ORACLE in a production RAC (ASM) environment with latest versions, logical/physical standby, ETL, replication

• Must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail.

• Experience with an organization with a key reliance on 24/7 reliability on its database.

Purpose

We are seeking an experienced professional Oracle Application Express Expert with technical skills and knowledge that extends across Database, Applications/ Server/ Storage/ Network technologies. The role performs highly effective centralized Oracle Application Express environment to develop, deliver and maintain custom application as per the client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Able to use Oracle Database as an application development platform.

• Analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance of applications in Oracle Application Express (APEX) and client/server configurations.

• Hands-on experience with recent versions of Oracle APEX (Oracle Application Express).

• Proficiency in Oracle APEX, SQL, PL/SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Worked on APEX extensions using Web services (SOAP and Rest).

• Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support including patch management and version control.

• Application Development: Design, develop, and maintain web applications using Oracle APEX to meet business needs.

• User Interface Design: Create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces for web applications.

• Database Integration: Develop and manage database objects, queries, and PL/SQL code to support APEX applications.

• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with people at all levels. Good communication and

presentation skills.

• Knowledge of setting up and troubleshooting Application Server (Tomcat, ORDS).

• Excellent conceptual knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g/12c/19c, PL/SQL and SQL.

• Experience in Database design using Normalization and E/R Diagrams.

• Rich experience in writing SQL queries, Views, Materialized views, PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, triggers, cursors, collections, Ref cursor, cursor variables, System reference cursor, Dynamic SQL.

• Experience in developing External Tables, Joins, Indexes and sequences.

• Experience in query optimization, performance and tuning (PL/SQL) using SQL Trace, Explain Plan, Indexing, Hints, Bulk Binds, Bulk Collect, Creation of global temporary tables and table partitioning.

• Good knowledge in using PL/SQL Wrappers to protect the PL/SQL procedures and packages.

• Efficient use of exception handling methods.

• Experience in using several built-in database packages such as DBMS_JOB, DBMS_OUTPUT,

UTL_FILE, and DBMS_SQL to name a few.

• Experience in using DBMS_SCHEDULER to run jobs in parallel to improve time-constrained

performance.

• Expertise in loading data from legacy systems using SQL*Loader.

• Experience in creating master detail forms and adding alerts.

• Experience in deploying forms and reports on the web.

• Experience in developing forms based on views, tables and procedures in tabular and form layouts.

• Experience in developing both web layout and paper lay out reports in various styles based on the user requirements.

• Extensively worked with third party database tools like TOAD & PL/SQL Developer.

• Strong knowledge of Extraction Transformation and Loading (ETL) processes using UNIX shell

scripting, SQL, PL/SQL and SQL Loader.

• Good in creating users and maintaining their roles and responsibilities.

• Experience in writing Technical design documents and developing unit test documents.
