Job description

Key Responsibilities:

Construction Management & Execution

  • Lead and manage all site construction activities including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, and Commissioning support works.

  • Develop and implement construction execution strategies, work packs, resource plans, and construction schedules.

  • Ensure construction activities are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, method statements, risk assessments, and ADNOC specifications.

  • Monitor construction progress and implement recovery plans to mitigate delays.

  • Manage brownfield modifications, shutdown works, tie-ins, hot work activities, and live plant interfaces.

  • Coordinate onshore construction campaigns ensuring minimal impact to operations.

HSE Leadership

  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all project activities.

  • Ensure compliance with ADNOC HSE Management System, PTW requirements, SIMOPS procedures, and Life Saving Rules.

  • Lead site safety reviews, toolbox talks, risk assessments, HAZID workshops, and incident investigations.

  • Ensure implementation of approved HSE plans, emergency response procedures, and environmental controls.

  • Achieve project goals of zero Lost Time Incidents (LTI) and zero environmental incidents.

Project Planning & Control

  • Review project schedules and establish construction milestones.

  • Coordinate with Project Controls for progress measurement, productivity monitoring, and forecasting.

  • Evaluate manpower, equipment, and material requirements to ensure timely project execution.

  • Participate in weekly and monthly progress review meetings with Client and EPCM teams.

  • Provide construction inputs for project reporting, S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and recovery plans.

Stakeholder & Client Management

  • Act as the primary construction focal point for ADNOC, EPCM contractors, consultants, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Attend Constructability Reviews, PHSER, SIMOPS workshops, and project coordination meetings.

  • Resolve site issues, technical queries, and interface challenges with all stakeholders.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure prompt closure of construction-related concerns.

Quality Management

  • Ensure compliance with approved ITPs, quality procedures, and project specifications.

  • Monitor inspection and testing activities in coordination with QA/QC teams.

  • Ensure timely closure of NCRs, punch items, and quality observations.

  • Support mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities.

Resource & Contract Management

  • Manage multidisciplinary construction teams, supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors.

  • Optimize utilization of manpower, equipment, and construction resources.

  • Review subcontractor performance and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled.

  • Support commercial teams regarding variation orders, claims, and change management.

Technical Competencies

  • ADNOC Codes of Practice, Standards, and Specifications.

  • EPC/EPCM project execution methodologies.

  • Brownfield and Greenfield project management.

  • Shutdown and Turnaround Management.

  • SIMOPS, PHSER, Constructability Review, and HAZID processes.

  • Permit to Work (PTW) Systems.

  • Mechanical Completion and Commissioning Management.

  • Construction Planning and Resource Management.

  • Contract Administration and Change Management.

  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation Planning.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of Construction Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and Discipline Leads.

  • Mentor and develop construction personnel.

  • Establish project objectives, performance targets, and accountability measures.

  • Drive productivity improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 15 years of Oil & Gas construction experience.

  • Minimum 10 years in ADNOC projects with proven experience in onshore projects.

  • Strong experience in live plant brownfield modifications, shutdown execution, and EPC/EPCM project delivery.

  • ADNOC-approved PTW Holder and Supervisor certifications preferred.

  • Relevant HSE certifications such as IOSH, NEBOSH, or equivalent preferred.

  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt to a dynamic project environment.

  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.

  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.

  • Ability to follow instructions, meet deadlines, and manage time effectively.

  • Willingness to work on-site at various ADNOC project locations in Abu Dhabi.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts and extended hours as project demands require.
