The Role
We are seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer (Full Stack) to join a high-performing engineering team.
This is a senior individual contributor position for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while remaining hands-on with development. You'll collaborate closely with Product, Design, Infrastructure, and Engineering teams to design, build, and scale a sophisticated cloud-native platform.
You'll play a key role in shaping technical direction, influencing architecture, mentoring other engineers, and delivering high-quality software across the full technology stack.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver scalable full-stack applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and React
- Develop secure, reliable, and high-performance software solutions
- Architect and implement cloud-native services and distributed systems
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver customer-focused features
- Drive improvements in application performance, scalability, reliability, and security
- Own complex technical initiatives from design through to deployment
- Review code, champion engineering best practices, and maintain high quality standards
- Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation, and long-term technical strategy
- Mentor engineers and support continuous improvement across development processes
- Help evolve cloud infrastructure, microservices, and platform capabilities
Skill and Experience
Essential
- Strong commercial experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
- Expertise with Node.js and React
- Extensive full-stack software engineering experience
- Experience designing and building microservices architectures
- Strong knowledge of AWS or other cloud-native platforms
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Solid understanding of testing practices, including Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience optimising application performance and scalability
- Strong architectural and technical documentation skills (e.g. ADRs, C4 Model)
Desirable
Experience With One Or More Of The Following
- Go (Golang)
- Java
- Rust
- C#
- Dart
- SDK, API, or CLI development
- Building security-focused, privacy-first, or highly regulated software platforms
