Job description
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Project Engineer to manage and coordinate demolition projects from tender stage through execution and close-out. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing project drawings, preparing technical submissions, planning site requirements, coordinating with clients and authorities, and ensuring that demolition activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications and statutory regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Engineering
- Review project drawings, specifications, structural details, and site conditions to determine demolition methodology and project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and prepare technical assessments prior to project execution.
- Develop demolition methodologies based on project scope and engineering requirements.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and identify all equipment, manpower, and temporary works required for each project.
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings, method statements, and project schedules.
Documentation & Client Submissions
- Prepare and submit all technical documents required by clients, consultants, and authorities.
- Prepare:
- Method Statements
- Risk Assessments (RA)
- Job Hazard Analysis (JHA)
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITP)
- Work Procedures
- Technical Queries (TQ)
- Material and Equipment Submittals
- Site Logistics Plans
- Lifting Plans (where applicable)
- Traffic Management Plans (if required)
- Respond to client comments and revise documents as required.
- Maintain proper document control throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Planning
- Prepare detailed execution plans and demolition schedules.
- Develop realistic project timelines and monitor progress against approved programmes.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization activities.
- Ensure all resources are available before work commences.
Resource Planning
- Prepare detailed manpower deployment plans.
- Prepare equipment deployment schedules, including cranes, excavators, breakers, skid loaders, generators, scaffolding, lifting accessories, and temporary support systems.
- Monitor equipment utilization and productivity.
Demolition Planning
- Prepare demolition sequencing plans.
- Develop dismantling procedures for:
- Steel structures
- Temporary structures
- Buildings
- Industrial facilities
- Ensure structural stability throughout demolition activities.
- Coordinate temporary support requirements where necessary.
Waste Management
- Prepare demolition waste management plans.
- Coordinate waste segregation, transportation, and disposal.
- Ensure compliance with Tadweer and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain waste disposal records, manifests, and related documentation.
Authority & Permit Coordination
- Coordinate demolition permit submissions with relevant authorities.
- Liaise with DMT, Tadweer, Miral, CICPA, and other regulatory authorities as required.
- Follow up on approvals and ensure compliance with authority requirements.
Client Coordination
- Attend meetings with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to technical inquiries.
- Prepare progress reports and technical presentations.
- Ensure timely submission of all client-required documentation.
Site Coordination
- Coordinate daily site activities with supervisors and HSE personnel.
- Ensure work complies with approved Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Monitor project progress and report any delays or technical issues.
- Support the Project Manager in achieving project objectives.
Tender & Prequalification Support
The Project Engineer shall be capable of preparing technical proposals including:
- Experience with similar demolition, dismantling, temporary structure, and steel structure projects (including reference projects where applicable).
- Proposed project execution timeline.
- Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Equipment and manpower deployment plans.
- Waste disposal methodology and Tadweer documentation.
- Miral site access requirements and security clearance documentation.
- Technical clarifications and engineering submissions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in demolition, dismantling, or heavy civil projects.
- UAE experience is preferred.
- Valid UAE Driving Licence is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of demolition engineering and temporary works.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and structural details.
- Excellent planning and project coordination skills.
- Experience preparing technical documentation and client submissions.
- Knowledge of DMT, Tadweer, Miral, and other UAE authority requirements.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project planning software (MS Project or Primavera is an advantage).
- Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
