We are currently looking for a Working student (d/f/m) Data Analysis & Reinsurance Insights to join our Life/Health Asia team in Cologne. This position is available as soon as possible and is initially offered for one year, with the possibility of extending for up to a second year. The role is designed to fit alongside your studies and is based on an agreed regular weekly working schedule of 15 hours per week during the semester.

Your Role

  • Support the Life/Health Asia team with data cleaning, data quality checks, and data analysis for reinsurance business in Japan and Southeast Asia.
  • Work with claims and premium data in R and Excel, focusing on metrics such as loss ratios, incidence rates, and trends.
  • Review reinsurance payments for accuracy and compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Help develop and improve tools and processes that increase efficiency.
  • Depending on your interests and skills, contribute to additional projects and day-to-day activities within the team.

Your Profile

  • You are currently studying mathematics, actuarial science, data science, statistics, or a related quantitative field.
  • You have completed at least your second year of study and expect to remain enrolled for at least one more year.
  • You are confident using MS Excel and have solid knowledge of R, particularly for data cleaning.
  • You communicate confidently in English, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of an East Asian language is an advantage but not required.
  • You enjoy working with data, pay attention to detail, and are curious about international business and reinsurance.
