QA Engineer - VoIP

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Test Engineer specializing in mobile audio/video quality assurance for our VoIP product (voice/video calling and real-time communication). You will drive specialized audio/video testing and automation infrastructure, and leverage AI to build testing tools that boost team efficiency.

Responsibilities

1. Mobile VoIP Testing

• Own functional testing and quality assurance for mobile VoIP products (iOS/Android).
• Cover:
• 1v1 calls
• Group calls
• Weak-network conditions
• Cross-platform interoperability

2. Audio/Video Quality Testing

• Conduct specialized audio/video testing.
• Perform quantitative evaluation of:
• FPS
• Freeze rate
• End-to-end latency
• Echo
• Audio/Video synchronization (A/V Sync)
• MOS (Mean Opinion Score)
• Other quality metrics
• Establish testing capabilities and quality baselines.

3. UI Automation

• Design and maintain UI automation frameworks (Appium or similar).
• Increase mobile regression test coverage.

4. API Automation

• Build and maintain API automation using Python + pytest/requests (or similar).
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.

5. AI-Powered Testing

Leverage AI (LLMs, agents, AI coding tools) to build testing tools for:

• Intelligent test case generation
• Log analysis
• Defect triage
• Test data generation
• Other AI-powered testing workflows

6. Test Infrastructure

• Contribute to:
• Weak-network simulation
• Multi-device orchestration (ADB)
• Competitor benchmarking

7. Quality Reporting

• Deliver quantified quality reports.
• Drive engineering quality improvements.

Requirements (Must-Have)

Experience

• 3+ years of mobile testing experience.
• Hands-on experience with audio/video, VoIP, or RTC products.

Audio/Video Testing

Practical experience in specialized audio/video testing, including measurement methods and tools for:

• FPS
• Freeze rate
• End-to-end latency
• Audio/video quality assessment

Examples include:

• ArUco marker-based methods
• Audio/stream injection
• Dedicated evaluation devices

Automation

• Proficient in UI automation (Appium, Airtest, or similar).
• Proficient in API automation (Python + pytest or similar).
• Experience building automation frameworks from scratch.

Python & Mobile Tooling

• Strong Python skills for test tooling.
• Familiar with ADB commands and multi-device management.

AI

• Skilled at using AI for efficiency.
• Demonstrable output using LLMs or AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) to build test tools or AI-powered testing workflows.

Debugging

• Strong debugging skills.
• Able to independently analyze:
• Client logs
• Packet captures
• Audio/video pipeline issues

Language

• Professional working proficiency in English (daily communication and documentation).

Nice-to-Have

Media Technologies

• Familiarity with the WebRTC stack.
• Familiarity with audio/video codecs (Opus, H.264/H.265, etc.).

Testing Infrastructure

• Experience building weak-network testing platforms or device farms.

Performance & Stability

• Experience with performance testing and stability testing (Monkey/Fastbot).

Emerging AI Technologies

• Exploration of cutting-edge directions such as:
• VLM-driven UI automation
• AI agent test orchestration
