Job description

  • Maintain productive relationships with business and technology stakeholders.

  • Facilitate discovery sessions and workshops to capture and validate high-level business requirements sufficient to evaluate potential solution options while maintaining a streamlined demand management process.

  • Analyse current-state business processes and identify opportunities for simplification, standardisation, automation, and digital enablement, challenging low-value requirements that drive unnecessary complexity or implementation costs.

  • Inform stakeholders of their obligations to adhere to technical standards, policies, and processes, including cybersecurity, hosting architecture, accessibility, data privacy, and branding requirements.

  • Maintain awareness of available services and platforms and guide business demands to the appropriate service owners or, where appropriate, solution architects for solution option assessment.

  • Assess business demands for business value, strategic alignment, risks, dependencies, complexity, and implementation considerations.

  • Prepare demand assessment materials and recommendations to support governance and prioritisation processes.

  • Lead requirements elicitation and business analysis activities for assigned projects, documenting business requirements at a level of detail sufficient to support solution design, development, and testing.

  • Establish and maintain requirements traceability and manage requirement changes throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Participate in solution design workshops and reviews, ensuring business requirements are accurately reflected in proposed solutions.

  • Develop business test scenarios and acceptance criteria, support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and coordinate business user participation in testing activities.

  • Support deployment planning and go-live readiness assessments to ensure successful handover to operations, service management, and support teams.

  • Participate in post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and contribute to benefits realisation assessments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 7 years of professional experience performing business analysis activities across the full solution lifecycle, including requirements elicitation, analysis, solution design support, testing, implementation, and transition to operations.

  • Expert knowledge of spoken and written English.

  • Knowledge of French or another official UN language is desirable but not mandatory.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) , Microsoft 365 collaboration tools (Teams and SharePoint), Microsoft Copilot and Microsoft Visio.

  • Experience in business process analysis and modelling using BPMN, UML, or equivalent process modelling techniques.

  • Demonstrated professional experience working with medium- to large-scale, cross-functional systems in an international context.

  • Experience working within established project frameworks (e.g. PRINCE2 or PMI) and delivery approaches (Agile or Hybrid).

  • Experience with major IT platforms such as Salesforce, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Experience with citizen and fusion development approaches.

  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or orchestration of AI-powered workflows.

  • Experience defining governance and prioritisation models for technology demand within an international organisation.

  • Experience working with the United Nations or other international or multinational organisations.

  • Strong business/client engagement skills and ability to establish effective working relationships with subject matter experts, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

  • Ability to manage requirements throughout their lifecycle, including elicitation, prioritisation, traceability, change control, and business acceptance.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to rapidly gather and consolidate information from multiple sources.

  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to produce high-quality documentation.

  • Ability to produce user stories, BPMN flows, UML diagrams, wireframes, report mock-ups, and other artefacts for validating requirements and informing solution design.

  • Understanding of IT project management, change management, and system development lifecycle processes, with the ability to discuss application and data-oriented technical topics.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with international, multicultural, and multidisciplinary teams across different time zones.

  • Highly organised with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

  • Proactive, flexible, resourceful, and able to work independently.

  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Visio.

  • Familiarity with administrative and/or health data management business domains.

Desirable:

  • Professional qualification or foundation certification in Business Analysis methodologies (e.g. IIBA CCBA/CBAP, PMI-PBA).

  • Advanced degree in Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
