With immediate effect our Public Health department is looking for two Health Advisors. Based in The Netherlands is required

 

Purpose 

You are responsible for implementation support of the health programs in the assigned countries. You promote quality and consistent support for sound decision making on health programs. 

 

Job Overview 

Working in close collaboration with the Health Programs Manager and other members of the Operations Support Team (OST).  

Working closely together with the different Medical Support Teams (MSTs) as well as other relevant medical specialists/advisors to secure alignment of agreed actions. 

Monitoring the quality of the processes and results of health programs in your assigned countries. 

Developing a good understanding of the support needs of different country health programs and proactively organise support to fulfil them. 

Visiting country/project teams regularly and/or be available to assist in emergency responses. 

Assuming responsibility for key Medical Coordinator activities where there is a gap. 

 

Main Responsibilities 

Implementation support on health programs for assigned countries 

Quality assurance system and patient safety goals for assigned countries programs 

Compliance with health policies, strategies, procedures and tools specific to assigned country program 

Contributions to project proposals, control cycle process and initiatives for the improvement of quality of health programs in assigned countries 

Medical supply management and implementation of required tools 

Reports related to the mission’s status and progress towards objectives 

Support and advice to country management teams including sharing of best practices 

Insights on contexts and health programs of assigned countries through regular briefing and debriefing of staff 

Contribution to the content of, and realization of, internal training modules 

 

Candidate Profile 

Registered Medical/Paramedical or Public Health Professional  

English is required. French, Arabic or Spanish is desirable 

6+ years’ experience in MSF or comparable humanitarian organization, plus senior medical management experience 

Broad knowledge on clinical governance, health information systems, medical ethical frameworks, medical supply management and Human Resource management 

Candidate must be already based or willing to re-locate to The Netherlands 

 

We offer 

This is a permanent role. We always start off with a 12-month contract, with the intention of renewing based on performance.  

 

A dutch contract with a gross monthly salary ranging between 4,875- and 6,711-euros gross per month. The exact salary depends on relevant work experience.

30 paid vacation days annually, contingent upon full-time employment status.
