The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost-related aspects of landscaping, irrigation, softscape, hardscape, and civil works projects. The role ensures projects are completed within budget while maintaining quality standards and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings and project specifications.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for landscaping, irrigation, softscape, hardscape, and civil works.
- Review project drawings and specifications for quantity verification.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Prepare and process subcontract agreements and purchase requests.
- Monitor project costs and control expenditures throughout the project.
- Measure work completed and prepare monthly progress valuations.
- Prepare variation orders (VO), claims, and supporting documents.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement, and Finance Departments.
- Verify subcontractor invoices and supplier payment certificates.
- Maintain records of quantities, cost reports, and contractual documentation.
- Assist in project budgeting, forecasting, and final account preparation.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions and project requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Minimum 6-9 years of UAE experience in landscaping, irrigation, or civil construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of BOQ preparation, quantity take-off, and cost estimation.
- Familiar with FIDIC contracts and UAE construction standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and MS Office.
- Experience with quantity surveying software is an advantage.
- Good communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
