Job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical to join our contracting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of mechanical works, including quantity take-offs, cost estimation, subcontractor management, progress valuations, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs for mechanical works.
- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and other mechanical systems.
- Prepare interim payment applications, progress claims, and final accounts.
- Measure and value completed work for client billing and subcontractor payments.
- Evaluate and process subcontractor quotations, variations, and payment certificates.
- Prepare and manage variation orders, claims, and contractual correspondence.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow, and report any cost variances.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement, and planning teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Assist in tender preparation, bid evaluations, and contract administration.
- Maintain accurate records of measurements, variations, and commercial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions, project specifications, and company procedures.
- Attend project meetings and provide commercial support throughout project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in a contracting company, preferably in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and Mechanical systems.
- Experience in quantity take-offs, cost control, contract administration, and variation management.
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and UAE construction practices is an advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, MS Office, and quantity surveying software.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
