Onsite Associate II, Lab Operations Support

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Laboratory Services Specialist to join our team in Leiden. In this role, you will provide essential laboratory support services, ensuring scientists and researchers have the materials, equipment, and operational support needed to deliver critical research and development activities.

What You'll Do

Laboratory Materials Preparation

• Prepare and label biological media, buffers, mobile phases, and other laboratory solutions in accordance with SOPs and regulatory requirements.

• Process requests through Avantor/BMS ordering systems for standard and custom formulations.

• Manage inventory levels of laboratory materials and consumables.

• Deliver prepared materials to laboratory end users with accurate supporting documentation.

• Operate laboratory equipment safely and in compliance with site procedures.

• Track service metrics and support the achievement of service level agreements.

Sample Receipt & Shipping

• Coordinate the receipt, storage, tracking, and shipment of laboratory samples.

• Ensure samples are processed and transported according to site, quality, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain accurate records in sample management systems.

• Manage retained samples, including storage, inventory tracking, and disposal activities.

Liquid Nitrogen Operations

• Coordinate the filling and management of liquid nitrogen reserve tanks.

• Ensure cryogenic materials are handled safely and according to site procedures.

Glassware & Sterilization Services

• Operate and maintain glassware washing, autoclave, and parts washer services.

• Clean, sterilize, inspect, and distribute laboratory glassware and equipment.

• Perform quality checks and remove damaged items from service.

• Maintain stock levels of detergents and cleaning supplies.

Laboratory Equipment Support

• Perform instrument verification and operational checks for laboratory equipment, including:

• Pipettes

• Balances

• pH meters

• Cell counters

• Nutrient metabolite analyzers

• Liquid handling systems

• Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibrations, repairs, and servicing with approved vendors.

• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records.

What We're Looking For

• Experience in a laboratory support, laboratory operations, or scientific services environment.

• Drivers license!

• Knowledge of GMP, GxP, GLP, or regulated laboratory practices.

• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

• Experience managing inventory, sample logistics, or laboratory equipment is an advantage.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.

• Strong customer service mindset with the ability to work collaboratively with scientists and laboratory stakeholders.
