Job description

Summary

Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical, plumbing & sanitary (P&S), fire protection, and public address (PA) systems. The role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance, supervises technical teams and contractors, manages engineering projects and asset enhancement initiatives, and ensures compliance with statutory requirements, safety regulations, SLAs, and client expectations to support efficient and reliable facility operations.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of Mechanical, Plumbing & Sanitary (P&S), Fire Protection, and Public Address (PA) systems to ensure operational reliability.

Supervise Technical Officers, Technicians, contractors, and vendors, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with SLA/KPI requirements.

Manage rectification, breakdown, Asset Enhancement Initiatives (AEI), Addition & Alteration (A&A), and Repair & Redecoration (R&R) projects, including reviewing engineering drawings and coordinating project execution.

Monitor maintenance performance using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), analyze equipment trends, and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, government authorities, and internal stakeholders to coordinate maintenance activities, engineering initiatives, and project delivery.

Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH), fire safety regulations, statutory requirements, and company policies while supporting energy conservation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Prepare quotations for maintenance and minor works, provide technical recommendations, support daily engineering operations, and perform the duties of the Mechanical & Fire Engineer during periods of absence.

Requirements

Diploma or Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related engineering discipline.

Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or M&E operations.

Hands-on experience in Mechanical, Plumbing & Sanitary (P&S), Fire Protection, and Public Address (PA) systems.

Good knowledge of Singapore fire safety regulations, statutory compliance, and Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements.

Experience managing contractors, vendors, and maintenance service providers, with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and Microsoft Office applications.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently. Experience in healthcare, commercial, institutional, or government facilities management is an added advantage.
