Job Title:

Budgeting Officer

(Supports budgeting, financial planning, and budget monitoring activities)

Department:

Finance – Shared Services

Position Overview

The Budgeting Officer supports the planning, preparation, monitoring, and reporting of organizational budgets. The role works closely with business units to coordinate budget submissions, monitor budget utilization, analyze budget performance, and support financial planning activities. The Budgeting Officer ensures budget information is accurate, timely, and aligned with company objectives, financial policies, and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Budget Planning

  • Support the preparation and consolidation of annual and periodic budgets.
  • Coordinate budget submissions with departments and business units.
  • Assist in developing budget assumptions, forecasts, and financial plans.
  • Maintain budget planning documentation and supporting schedules.

Budget Monitoring

  • Monitor budget utilization against approved budgets.
  • Prepare budget variance analyses and identify significant variances.
  • Track budget commitments and expenditure trends.
  • Support departments in managing budgets effectively.

Financial Analysis & Reporting

  • Prepare periodic budget reports, dashboards, and management summaries.
  • Support forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Analyze budget performance and provide recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Assist management by providing budget-related insights and financial analysis.

Budget Governance & Compliance

  • Ensure budgeting activities comply with company policies, financial procedures, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain complete budget documentation and supporting records.
  • Support internal and external audit activities related to budgeting.

Coordination & Continuous Improvement

  • Coordinate with Finance and business units on budget-related matters.
  • Support the development and enhancement of budgeting processes, templates, and reporting tools.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance function.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in developing annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

• Experience in project budgeting and capital expenditure (CAPEX) planning.

• Experience in preparing executive management reports and financial dashboards.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams and Finance Business Partnering.

• Experience in business performance analysis and strategic planning.

• Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.

• Relevant Experience:

Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in budgeting, financial planning & analysis (FP&A), forecasting, budget control, and management reporting.

• Professional Certifications (Preferred):

CMA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, FMVA, or equivalent finance certification.

• Technical Knowledge:

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP Systems, Power BI, Financial Modeling, Budget Development,
