Description
KALLEEN Civil and Marine Contracting is currently seeking a highly skilled and proactive MEP Project Engineer to oversee, coordinate, and execute all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) activities directly on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring that all MEP installations comply with contract requirements, technical specifications, and project schedules while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:-
Site Execution & Supervision:
- Supervise and coordinate daily site execution activities to ensure all MEP installations are completed according to approved shop drawings, specifications, and project milestones.
- Monitor project progress on-site, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement immediate corrective actions to maintain the schedule.
- Ensure strict compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements, quality standards, and local authority regulations across all work fronts.
Technical Coordination & Approvals:
- Prepare, review, and coordinate all site-related material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and technical queries (RFIs) to secure consultant/client approvals.
- Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors directly on-site to resolve technical conflicts, clashes, and coordination issues in a timely manner.
- Liaise with relevant local authorities to facilitate inspections, secure necessary permits, and obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs).
Commercial & Variation Management:
- Identify site variations and scope changes, leading the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of Variation Orders (VOs).
- Provide technical and commercial justifications for VOs, coordinating closely with the commercial and contracts teams.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover:
- Manage the smooth handover of work fronts between construction teams, testing & commissioning (T&C) teams, the client, and authorities.
- Support all testing, commissioning, snagging, and de-snagging activities, ensuring all close-out documentation is complete and approved.
- Maintain meticulous records of all approvals, site variations, authority correspondence, and as-built drawings.
Job Requirements (Qualifications)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Languages: Fluent in English is Required and Arabic language is Advantage.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of MEP systems, site installation methodologies, local authority regulations, and reading complex shop drawings.
Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong communication/negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced site environment.
