Cybersecurity Engineer – IT/OT Integration

Position Summary

As a Cybersecurity Engineer specialising in IT / OT integration, you will secure the convergence of industrial control systems and enterprise IT environments. You will design and implement the secure architectures, segmentation, monitoring, and controls that protect operational technology (SCADA, DCS, PLCs) while enabling safe, reliable data exchange between OT, IT, and cloud / edge systems. Demonstrated hands-on IT / OT integration security experience is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure IT / OT integration architectures, including network segmentation and industrial DMZs aligned to the Purdue model / ISA-95 and IEC 62443.
• Deploy, configure, and operate OT security-monitoring and asset-visibility platforms (e.g. Claroty, Nozomi Networks, Dragos, Tenable.ot, Forescout).
• Establish secure remote access, data diodes, and controlled data flows between OT, IT, historians, MES, and cloud / edge platforms.
• Conduct OT / ICS risk and vulnerability assessments, and manage patching within operational constraints.
• Develop and maintain OT cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, and architecture baselines.
• Lead and support OT incident detection, response, and threat hunting in coordination with the SOC.
• Harden ICS components and networks, and manage firewall rules, access control, and secure configurations.
• Partner with automation / controls engineers, IT, and vendors to embed security into projects and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (e.g. IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-82, and NERC CIP where applicable).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical / Control Engineering, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
• 6+ years of cybersecurity experience with demonstrable hands-on IT / OT integration / convergence experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICS / SCADA / DCS components (PLCs, RTUs, HMIs, historians) and industrial protocols (Modbus, OPC UA / DA, DNP3, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, MQTT).
• Practical experience with network segmentation, firewalls, and secure remote access in OT environments.
• Working knowledge of IEC 62443 and NIST SP 800-82.
• Hands-on experience with at least one OT security-monitoring platform (Claroty, Nozomi, Dragos, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as GICSP, ISA / IEC 62443 Cybersecurity, GRID, GCIH, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+.
• Familiarity with control-system vendor platforms (Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa Centum, Emerson DeltaV, Rockwell, Siemens).
• Experience with OT incident response, threat intelligence, and security for cloud / edge industrial data architectures.
• Background in oil & gas, energy, utilities, or other critical-infrastructure environments.
• Knowledge of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and functional-safety considerations.
