Mechanical Engineer – Data Center Projects

Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, commissioning, and quality compliance of all mechanical systems in a data center project. The role acts as the consultant's representative to ensure that contractor works comply with approved designs, specifications, international standards, and project requirements. Review and comment on submissions of shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and RFIs. The following are the Key Responsibility:

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical submissions.
• Supervise installation of HVAC and cooling systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps, FAHUs, ventilation, fuel systems, and generator cooling systems.
• Witness FAT, SAT, TAB, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.
• Review CFD reports, thermal analysis, redundancy requirements (N+1, 2N), and cooling performance.
• Have basic understanding of electrical systems in data centers.
• Conduct site inspections, issue observations/NCRs, and verify corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA-942, NFPA, and local authority requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7-10 years of MEP/HVAC experience.
• Minimum 5 years in Data Center projects.
• Experience in Tier III/Tier IV or hyperscale data centers preferred.
