Job Summary
The Low Voltage Design Engineer creates comprehensive electrical system designs, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and containment layouts from initial concept through to construction-ready documentation.
Key Responsibilities
· System Design & Layouts: Draft detailed plans for main switchboards, distribution boards, small power distribution, and grounding/earthing systems
· Engineering Calculations: Compute precise electrical load estimations, maximum demand, cable sizing, short-circuit metrics, and voltage drops.
· Lighting Simulation: Conduct indoor and emergency lighting simulations using specialized software to ensure adequate lux levels and energy efficiency.
· ELV Systems Integration: Coordinate or design Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) components, including fire alarms, CCTV surveillance, access control, smart building systems, and structured IT cabling.
· Interdisciplinary Coordination: Use 3D modeling platforms to review and resolve spatial design conflicts with HVAC, plumbing, and structural components.
· Compliance & Approvals: Prepare submission packages for local utility companies and municipal civil defense bodies to obtain project permits.
· Documentation & Support: Generate detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs), cable schedules, and technical data sheets while offering remote or site-level troubleshooting.
Required Technical Skills
· Software Proficiency: Deep operational knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit (MEP) for 3D BIM modeling.
· Simulation Tools: Expertise in DIALux or DIALux evo for architectural lighting, and electrical calculation tools like ETAP or Amtech.
Qualifications & Experience
· Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Telecommunications Engineering.
Experience: Typically 2 to 5 years of engineering consultancy experience within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) or building construction sectors
Pay: AED1,634.57 - AED6,728.25 per month
