As part of our expansion, we are looking for a Sales Engineer – Protective Coatings & Industrial Services who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial acumen to drive business growth.
This is a business development and technical sales role, not a project execution position.
Position Overview
The Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing client relationships, promoting Vortexen's services, preparing techno-commercial proposals, and converting enquiries into awarded projects.
The ideal candidate should possess practical knowledge of protective coating systems and have the confidence to engage with EPC contractors, consultants, asset owners, and industrial clients.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UAE.
- Generate enquiries and RFQs from Oil & Gas, EPC, Marine, Power, Infrastructure, and Industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and project owners.
- Conduct client meetings, technical presentations, and product/service demonstrations.
- Develop and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
- Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
Technical Sales
- Understand project specifications and client requirements.
- Recommend suitable protective coating and corrosion protection solutions.
- Coordinate with internal technical and estimation teams to develop competitive solutions.
- Support clients with technical clarifications throughout the sales process.
Proposal & Tender Management
- Review RFQs, drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Coordinate preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Prepare quotations and follow up until project award.
- Participate in commercial negotiations and contract finalization.
Client Relationship Management
- Develop long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Identify repeat business opportunities.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales cycle.
Market Intelligence
- Monitor upcoming industrial projects and market developments.
- Identify potential clients and new business opportunities.
- Track competitor activities and industry trends.
- Submit regular sales reports and pipeline updates.
Mandatory RequirementsExperience
- 3–8 years of experience in Protective Coatings, Industrial Coatings, Corrosion Protection, Passive Fire Protection, Marine, Oil & Gas, or Industrial Services.
- Experience in technical sales, business development, or client-facing engineering roles.
- Strong understanding of industrial project sales cycles.
Technical Knowledge
Practical knowledge of one or more of the following:
- Protective Coating Systems
- Industrial Coating Applications
- Corrosion Protection
- Surface Preparation
- Passive Fire Protection
- Marine Coatings
- Tank & Pipeline Coatings
- Structural Steel Coatings
Knowledge of NACE/AMPP, SSPC, ISO 12944, ASTM, or equivalent standards will be an added advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- NACE/AMPP, FROSIO, BGAS, SSPC, or equivalent coating certifications are preferred.
