LEAD QA/QC ENGINEER

Jobs at this level are staffed by multi-disciplined engineers responsible for the development and implementation of project specific Quality Assurance, Quality Control, inspection, testing and welding procedures & plans, the review of subcontractor quality systems and the supervision and carrying-out of quality inspections, testing and audits. There will also be an element of training and qualifying inspection, NDT and welding staff

RESPONSABILITIES: Review quality control, inspection, and testing requirements of projects.

Supports QC Manager in developing project specific quality control systems. This includes preparation of ITP, RFI system.

Oversee implementation of projects quality control systems.

Liaise with client to gain clearance for project specific QA/QC, welding, and NDT plans, decides difficult technical issues and resolves client concerns, bearing in mind cost impact factors.

Prepare & upgrade discipline specific Quality control System procedures as directed QC Manager

Undertake increasingly critical reviews of subcontractor QA-QC documentation at the respective stages of pre-qualification, short listing, and post-contract award to ensure comprehensive compliance with NMDC standards and project contractual requirements.

Develop and implement programmes & plans for training and qualification / certification to international standards of NMDC’s Inspection, NDT, and welding staff to ensure that the functions have inspectors, technicians, and welders of the right standard to undertake duties.

Compliance in accordance with HSE Standard

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Preferably Mechanical, Metallurgical or Civil), or equivalent

CSWIP 3.2.2, NDT (RT, PT, MT, UT, VT) – ASNT Level II, NACE Level II, IECEX personnel competency or equivalent required.

ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is preferred.
