Job Title: Spare Parts Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Spare Parts Engineer to oversee spare parts planning, identification, procurement, and inventory management for earth-moving equipment, heavy vehicles, and light vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in spare parts engineering, parts catalog interpretation, and equipment maintenance requirements, with proven experience in the transportation and oil & gas industries. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability of critical spare parts, optimizing inventory levels, and supporting maintenance operations to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and procure spare parts for earth-moving equipment, heavy vehicles, and light vehicles.
- Analyze and interpret spare parts catalogs, technical manuals, engineering drawings, and manufacturer diagrams to determine correct spare parts and components.
- Maintain accurate records of part numbers, specifications, interchangeability data, and inventory levels.
- Coordinate with maintenance, workshop, fleet, and procurement teams to determine spare parts requirements and priorities.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of critical and fast-moving spare parts.
- Prepare technical specifications, purchase requests, quotations, and supplier evaluations.
- Verify spare parts compatibility and technical compliance before procurement and issuance.
- Support preventive maintenance programs by ensuring the availability of required spare parts.
- Manage emergency and breakdown spare parts requirements to minimize equipment downtime.
- Develop and implement inventory optimization strategies, including stock analysis and forecasting.
- Monitor supplier performance, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of spare parts.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of spare parts transactions and inventory movements.
- Prepare technical and inventory reports, including consumption trends, stock valuation, and critical spare parts analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and HSE requirements.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in spare parts engineering, inventory management, or maintenance support for earth-moving equipment, heavy vehicles, and light vehicles.
- Strong technical knowledge of equipment systems, spare parts identification, and maintenance requirements.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting spare parts diagrams, technical drawings, EPC (Electronic Parts Catalog), and manufacturer documentation.
- Experience in the transportation and oil & gas sectors is mandatory.
- Familiarity with ERP, SAP, or other inventory management systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and supplier management abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage urgent operational requirements.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of leading equipment and vehicle brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, Mercedes-Benz, MAN, Scania, and Toyota.
- Expertise in inventory planning, stock control, spare parts forecasting, and lifecycle management.
- Strong understanding of equipment reliability, maintenance planning, and spare parts optimization.
- Proficiency in Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC) systems and manufacturer databases.
- Experience in warranty tracking, supplier performance evaluation, and vendor management.
- Ability to analyze technical manuals, service bulletins, and engineering documentation for accurate spare parts selection.
- Strong coordination skills with maintenance, fleet operations, procurement, and warehouse teams.
- Ability to manage critical spare parts availability and support emergency breakdown
