About Us
We are a new dynamic, community coffee and pastry shop dedicated to the art of specialty coffee and the craft of homemade cakes and pastries. We pride ourselves on serving ethically sourced, speciality coffee alongside a menu of nutritious salads, toasts, and freshly baked cakes and pastries made in-house daily. We are looking for a leader who shares our passion for quality and hospitality.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Hospitality "Go-Getter" to lead our team. This is not a passive administrative role; we need a hands-on Manager who lives and breathes coffee and cakes culture. You will be responsible for the entire front-of-house operation, from espresso extraction and inventory management to staff development and local marketing. You will set the standard for service and ensure that every customer leaves happier than they arrived.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations & Quality Control
l Oversee daily opening and closing procedures, ensuring consistency in product quality and store presentation.
l Manage inventory: order coffee beans, fresh produce, baking ingredients, and retail items with a focus on minimizing waste.
l Maintain equipment to the highest industry standards.
l Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
2. Team Leadership & Personnel Management
l Recruit, train, and mentor baristas and service staff.
l Create staff schedules to optimize floor coverage.
l Conduct regular performance reviews and foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
l Lead daily "cupping" sessions or briefings to educate staff.
3. Financial Performance
l Drive sales and manage the P&L (Profit & Loss).
l Full proficiency with POS systems andability to analyze sales data to identify best-selling items and underperformers.
l Adjust menu placement or recommend pricing strategy.
l Control costs (food, labor, and overhead) to meet budgetary targets.
4. Marketing & Community Engagement
l Act as the brand ambassador within the local community.
l Plan and execute in-store events (e.g., latte art throwdowns, pastry tastings, movie nights).
l Lead on creating engaging content (reels, stories) featuring new drinks and seasonal pastries.
l Develop B2B partnerships with nearby businesses.
The Ideal Candidate
You are a high-energy leader with a "scrappy" attitude—comfortable stepping behind the espresso machine during a rush or hopping on the POS to keep the line moving.
l Experience: Minimum 3 years of management experience in a specialty coffee shop or a high-volume commercial chain (e.g., Starbucks, Costa, Pret, or independent artisanal roasters).
l Coffee Knowledge: Deep understanding of extraction theory, latte art, and equipment maintenance. (SCA certification is a plus).
l Food Savvy: Appreciation for healthy eating and scratch baking; you understand the labor involved in making pastries from raw ingredients.
l Marketing Mindset: You know how to drive foot traffic—whether through local events, influencer outreach, or strategic merchandising.
l Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
