Job Title: Landscape Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years of UAE experience
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Landscape Engineer to join our landscape construction team. The candidate should have practical UAE experience in landscape execution, including softscape, hardscape, irrigation, and maintenance works. The Landscape Engineer will be responsible for supervising site activities, coordinating with project stakeholders, ensuring quality compliance, and completing works within the approved schedule and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review approved landscape drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project requirements before starting site works.
  • Prepare and coordinate shop drawings, material submittals, samples, method statements, inspection requests, and work schedules.
  • Supervise daily site activities for softscape, hardscape, irrigation, water features, landscape lighting, and maintenance works.
  • Coordinate excavation, filling, grading, soil preparation, planting, turf installation, kerbstone works, interlock paving, decking, pergolas, planter works, and other landscape elements.
  • Ensure correct installation of irrigation systems, including mainlines, sub-mainlines, valves, valve boxes, drip irrigation, sprinklers, bubblers, controllers, pumps, filters, and related accessories.
  • Inspect planting materials, trees, shrubs, ground covers, natural grass, artificial grass, sweet soil, fertilizers, and irrigation materials before installation.
  • Ensure all works are completed according to approved drawings, project specifications, consultant requirements, and UAE authority standards.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site labour teams.
  • Prepare daily work reports, manpower reports, material requirement lists, site progress reports, and weekly work plans.
  • Monitor labour productivity, material usage, equipment requirements, and work progress to control project costs.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs, site measurements, variation quantities, and material requisitions.
  • Conduct site inspections and raise inspection requests for completed works.
  • Attend consultant and client meetings and follow up on comments, instructions, and corrective actions.
  • Identify site issues, coordinate solutions with the project manager, and avoid delays in work progress.
  • Ensure proper protection of completed landscape works until project handover.
  • Coordinate snag rectification, final inspections, testing and commissioning of irrigation systems, and project handover.
  • Support landscape maintenance activities after completion, including irrigation checking, pruning, fertilizing, pest control coordination, and replacement of damaged plants.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Landscape Engineering, Agriculture, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of UAE experience in landscape construction, irrigation, and maintenance projects.
  • Strong knowledge of softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, and landscape construction materials.
  • Ability to read and understand IFC drawings, shop drawings, BOQ, specifications, and site layouts.
  • Knowledge of trees, shrubs, ground covers, turf, soil preparation, fertilizers, and plant maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of irrigation materials such as HDPE pipes, PVC pipes, valves, sprinklers, drippers, bubblers, controllers, pumps, filters, and fittings.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MS Office, Excel, and quantity calculation.
  • Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage site labour, subcontractors, suppliers, and daily work activities.
  • UAE driving licence is preferred.
