Site Engineer (Mechanical)

Job Summary:

Responsible for the on-site execution, supervision, and quality control of all mechanical works within the assigned project. This includes HVAC, chilled water systems, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting systems, ensuring they are installed as per approved drawings, specifications, and authority regulations. The role requires hands-on site management, coordination with other trades, and ensuring all works are completed on schedule and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute and supervise daily mechanical works on site, including HVAC, chilled water piping, duct installation, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting systems, in line with approved drawings and specifications.
• Coordinate closely with civil, electrical, and architectural teams to avoid clashes and ensure smooth site progress.
• Review and understand IFC drawings, shop drawings, and coordination drawings before starting work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure mechanical installations meet authority regulations and project-specific standards.
• Supervise subcontractor teams and in-house manpower, ensuring they follow approved method statements and quality procedures.
• Monitor material availability on site and coordinate with the procurement team for timely deliveries.
• Conduct inspections with QA/QC and consultants to obtain approvals for installed works.
• Prepare and submit daily progress reports, site updates, and inspection requests to the project management team.
• Identify and report any design discrepancies, site constraints, or potential delays to the Mechanical Project Engineer.
• Support the testing and commissioning process of mechanical systems and ensure readiness for inspection.
• Maintain updated as-built records for all mechanical installations.
• Enforce site safety rules and ensure all mechanical works are carried out in compliance with HSE requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of handover documentation, O&M manuals, and authority submissions for mechanical works.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6 or more years of experience in mechanical execution including 5 years in UAE.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC system design and installation, chilled water pipe networks, ducting works, plumbing and drainage systems, water supply systems, and fire fighting installations.
