Industry: Building Materials Trading (Retail)

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Manager to oversee procurement operations for our building materials retail business. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely availability of stock to support sales and operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the complete procurement cycle for all kinds of building materials (cement, steel, tiles, sanitary, electrical, Plumping, Hardware's etc.)
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to achieve cost savings
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to maintain optimum stock
  • Ensure timely purchase orders and delivery tracking
  • Analyse market trends, pricing, and demand forecasts
  • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve any supply issues
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures
  • Prepare purchase reports, cost analysis, and budget tracking
  • Coordinate with finance for payment processing and cost control
  • Managing
  • Lead, supervise, and manage a team of 4 procurement staff, ensuring productivity and efficiency
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide training and guidance to team members.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 8–10 years of procurement experience in building materials trading/retail.
  • Strong knowledge of building materials products and suppliers in the UAE.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Good communication and leadership skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in UAE, GCC and International market procurement
  • Strong supplier network in building materials industry
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
