Electrical Draftsman

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electrical Draftsman to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed electrical drawings and documentation for diesel generator (DG) packages and associated electrical systems. Candidates with prior experience in generator manufacturing, packaging, or EPC projects will be given preference.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical drawings including:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
• General Arrangement (GA) drawings
• Cable routing and cable schedules
• Earthing and lightning protection layouts
• Power and control wiring diagrams
• Panel GA, termination, and interconnection drawings
• Prepare and revise drawings based on engineering inputs and client comments.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineers to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain drawing revisions and document control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare As-Built drawings upon project completion.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable international standards.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Electrical Draftsman.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
• Good knowledge of electrical drafting standards and engineering documentation.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in diesel generator (DG) packages is highly preferred.
• Experience preparing electrical drawings for generator control panels, synchronizing panels, AMF panels, fuel systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Experience in industrial, oil & gas, power generation, or EPC projects.
• Familiarity with GCC utility and client standards (ADNOC, DEWA, SEWA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Plant 3D, EPLAN, STAAD.PRO will be an added advantage.
