Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Estimation Engineer (Pre‑Contract) with strong expertise in building construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing competitive tenders, BOQs, cost estimates, rate analysis, and pre‑contract documentation for residential, commercial, villa, and high‑rise building projects.
This role requires excellent analytical skills, deep knowledge of building materials and construction methods, and the ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, BOQs, and tender submissions for building projects.
- Conduct material take‑offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Perform rate analysis for civil, architectural, and finishing works.
- Review tender documents, specifications, IFC drawings, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with procurement to obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Evaluate subcontractor bids and prepare comparison sheets.
- Prepare pre‑contract budgets, cost breakdowns, and pricing sheets.
- Identify cost risks, value‑engineering opportunities, and commercial considerations.
- Ensure compliance with tender requirements, authority standards, and company procedures.
- Prepare technical and commercial clarifications for tender submissions.
- Support management during tender negotiations and finalization.
- Maintain updated cost databases, material prices, and market benchmarks.
Skills & Competencies Required
- Strong knowledge of building estimation (residential, commercial, villas, high‑rise).
- Excellent understanding of civil, architectural, and finishing works.
- Proficiency in BOQ preparation, rate analysis, tendering, and cost estimation.
- Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and commercial skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software.
- Good communication and coordination skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- 5–10 years of experience as Estimation Engineer in building construction.
- Mandatory UAE experience in building projects (villas, commercial, residential, high‑rise).
- Knowledge of local authority standards (Dubai Municipality, Trakhees, DDA, etc.) is an advantage.
