Senior Data Engineer

We have partnered with a fintech business in Dubai to hire a Data Engineer. Data sits at the core of how this business operates, and the engineering team building and maintaining that data infrastructure plays a critical role in what the company can do and how fast it can move. With a growing volume of financial data flowing across the platform, this is an opportunity to build pipelines and architecture that genuinely matter, in an environment that understands their value.

This role suits an engineer who is as focused on reliability and data quality as they are on throughput, and who understands the stakes that come with financial data at scale.

About the role:

• Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines that move, transform and serve high-volume financial data across the business
• Own the development and evolution of the data platform, working across batch and streaming environments to ensure reliability and performance
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts and AI engineers to ensure clean, well-structured data is available where and when it is needed
• Implement data quality frameworks, testing practices and observability tooling that keep pipelines trustworthy in production
• Contribute to data modelling and architecture decisions, ensuring the platform is built to scale with the business
• Support the development of AI and ML capabilities by designing data infrastructure that feeds model training, feature engineering and inference pipelines

About you:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in data engineering or a closely related discipline
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with a solid understanding of software engineering principles applied to data
• Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
• Experience building and maintaining both batch and streaming pipelines using frameworks such as Apache Spark, Kafka or Airflow
• Familiarity with dbt or equivalent transformation tooling and modern data stack practices
• Understanding of data governance, quality and security considerations within a regulated financial services environment
• Fintech or financial services experience is advantageous
