A Sports Bar Manager oversees the daily operations of a sports-themed venue. They are responsible for managing staff, controlling inventory, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and driving revenue. • Staff Leadership: Hire, train, schedule, and evaluate bartenders, barbacks, and waitstaff. Conduct pre-service briefings and ensure the team delivers outstanding customer service. [1, 2, 3]
• Floor Operations: Oversee the smooth running of the bar during busy game days. Manage audiovisual (AV) setups, ensuring multiple sports broadcasts, screens, and audio systems are functioning perfectly. [1, 2, 3]
• Event Planning: Coordinate promotional events, game-day specials, and viewing parties to maximize foot traffic and revenue. [1, 2, 3]
• Inventory & Stock: Conduct regular inventory of liquor, beer, wine, and food. Reorder supplies, manage vendor relationships, and minimize waste. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
• Financial Oversight: Manage the venue's budget, set pricing, track sales, and handle daily financial reporting. Ensure point-of-sale (POS) systems are used accurately by the team. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Essential Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Typically requires multiple years of experience managing a high-volume pub, bar, or restaurant.
• Industry Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of beverage management—including beer and spirits—and food pairings.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent conflict resolution, multitasking, and leadership skills.
