As Sokin continues to expand its global payments platform, we're anticipating future hiring needs within our Engineering function. We're therefore building a talent pipeline of experienced Cloud Engineers. You will play a pivotal role in architecting, deploying, and optimising our cloud infrastructure to support our mission-critical applications.
You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, scalability, and security for our fintech platform.
This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms (AWS and GCP), infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and fintech-specific compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2). You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, Security, and Software Engineering, to deliver robust and efficient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Architecture Design : Architect and deploy secure, scalable, and cost-optimised cloud infrastructure to support fintech applications, ensuring alignment with business and compliance requirements
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) : Develop and maintain IaC using tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Azure ARM templates to automate infrastructure provisioning and management
- CI/CD Pipeline Integration : Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate cloud infrastructure with CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless deployment of applications using GitHub Actions
- Security and Compliance : Implement security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security, to meet fintech regulatory standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR, SOC 2)
- Performance Optimisation : Monitor and optimise cloud performance, leveraging tools like AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Datadog to ensure low latency and high availability.
- Cost Management : Implement cost-optimisation strategies, including reserved instances, spot instances, and auto-scaling, to maximise ROI on cloud investments.
- Disaster Recovery and High Availability : Design and implement disaster recovery (DR) strategies and high-availability architectures to ensure business continuity
- Collaboration and Mentorship : Work closely with software engineers, security teams, and junior cloud engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Incident Response : Participate in troubleshooting and resolution of cloud-related incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid recovery
- Innovation and Research : Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and fintech trends, recommending and prototyping new solutions to enhance platform capabilities
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
