Role Summary

The Steel Sales Executive is responsible for driving domestic steel sales, managing the full sales cycle from enquiry to delivery, and building long-term relationships with contractors, fabricators, and trading clients. The role requires solid product knowledge, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to negotiate pricing and terms while protecting the company’s margins and credit exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business development: Identify, develop, and convert new business across the construction, fabrication, and industrial sectors in the UAE and GCC.
  • Sales cycle: Manage the complete sales cycle – enquiry, quotation, negotiation, order confirmation, and coordination of delivery.
  • Product advisory: Advise customers on the right products and specifications across GI/HR/PPGI coils and sheets, MS/GI pipes, hollow sections, and structural steel.
  • Pricing & negotiation: Negotiate tonnage-based pricing and commercial terms in line with approved price lists and credit policy.
  • Account management: Maintain strong relationships with existing accounts, ensuring repeat business and managing buyer concentration risk.
  • Credit & collections: Work within the Customer Credit Approval Procedure; support timely collection of receivables and proper handling of post-dated cheques.
  • ERP/CRM & reporting: Track enquiries, quotations, orders, and customer contact details accurately in the company’s ERP/CRM system for reporting and follow-up.
  • AI & digital tools: Use AI-assisted and digital sales tools introduced by the company to improve efficiency, quoting, and customer follow-up.
  • Market intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and market demand to inform sales strategy.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience in steel trading, building materials, or a related industrial sector – preferably in the UAE/GCC market.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a B2B environment.
  • Sound knowledge of steel products (coils, sheets, pipes, hollow sections, structural steel) and their applications.
  • Established network of contractors, fabricators, and trading clients is a strong advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • ERP/CRM experience: Hands-on experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g. Tally, Zoho, SAP, or similar) – very important for this role.
  • AI familiarity: Strong familiarity and comfort with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT and similar) and willingness to adopt AI-assisted sales workflows – very important.
  • Valid UAE driving licence preferred.

Language Requirements

  • Required: Fluent English (spoken and written) – required.
  • Advantage: Knowledge of Arabic, Hindi, or Urdu is an advantage given our UAE/GCC customer base.
