Job Title: Civil Engineer
Job Summary: A Civil Engineer in the landscape and QC industry plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining outdoor spaces. This position involves project planning, site supervision, resource management, and quality control to achieve landscape project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning: Collaborate with landscape architects, project managers, and clients to create landscape plans, including plant selection, hardscape elements, and irrigation systems.
Site Supervision: Oversee and direct on-site activities, ensuring that landscaping work adheres to design plans, safety standards, and environmental considerations.
Quality Control: Implement and maintain strict quality control measures to ensure that landscaping work meets design specifications and industry standards.
Resource Management: Manage resources, such as labor, materials, and equipment, to optimize project productivity and stay within budget.
Health and Safety: Promote and enforce safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries during landscaping work.
Plant Knowledge: Identify, source, and manage the planting of various trees, shrubs, flowers, and other plants, considering soil conditions and climate.
Technical Expertise: Apply knowledge of landscaping techniques, including soil preparation, grading, drainage, and irrigation, to achieve project goals.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of on-site activities, including daily progress reports, material deliveries, and modifications to design plans.
Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during landscaping work to ensure project success.
Client Communication: Keep clients and project stakeholders informed about project progress, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that landscaping work complies with local environmental and zoning regulations.
Cost Control: Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-saving measures when possible.
Subcontractor Management: Supervise and coordinate subcontractors and vendors to ensure their work aligns with the landscape project's goals and timeline.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture, horticulture, or a related field may be required or preferred.
Experience: Practical experience in landscape construction and site management is essential. 2 years of experience required may vary by project and employer.
Plant Knowledge: A strong understanding of various plant species, their growth requirements, and maintenance needs.
Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in landscape construction techniques, project management, and relevant software and tools.
Design Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret landscape design plans and specifications.
Communication Skills: Effective communication for coordinating with project stakeholders, clients, and team members.
Safety Awareness: Knowledge of landscaping safety regulations and a commitment to a safe work environment.
Leadership Skills: The ability to lead and manage landscaping teams, subcontractors, and laborers.
Problem-Solving: Skillful at identifying and resolving issues on the landscape site.
Organizational Skills: Strong organization and time management skills to ensure efficient project execution.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
