Electrical Engineer -DM/DEWA Approved

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Electrical Engineer with DM & DEWA approval for G + 4 to G+6 experience , the role will involve day-to-day tasks related to electrical engineering projects and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical System Design & Planning:

o Develop electrical designs for G+6 buildings, including lighting, power distribution, emergency systems, HVAC, and communication systems.

o Ensure the electrical design complies with DEWA, DM, and local safety standards.

o Coordinate electrical layouts with the architectural and structural teams to integrate systems effectively into the building's design.

2. DEWA & DM Approval:

o Prepare detailed electrical design drawings and documentation for submission to DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) and DM (Dubai Municipality).

o Work closely with authorities to secure all necessary approvals for electrical installations.

3. Power Distribution & Load Calculations:

o Conduct load calculations and select appropriate equipment and systems to ensure adequate power distribution across the building.

o Design primary and secondary power distribution systems, ensuring that they meet the power needs of all floors, including common areas and individual units.

4. Coordination with Other Disciplines:

o Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and civil teams to ensure proper integration of electrical systems with other building infrastructure.

o Address any design conflicts between disciplines and resolve issues promptly.

5. Site Supervision & Quality Control:

o Oversee the installation of electrical systems on-site for compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and DEWA/DM requirements.

o Inspect work to ensure the quality and accuracy of installations and perform regular inspections during the construction phase.

o Monitor site progress and ensure that electrical work is completed on time and within budget.

6. Testing, Commissioning, and Handover:

o Supervise the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and backup systems.

o Ensure that all systems are operational and meet the required safety and performance standards before handover.

o Work with the commissioning team to resolve any issues during the final stages of the project.

7. Energy Efficiency & Sustainability:

o Design energy-efficient electrical systems to minimize power consumption and reduce operating costs.

o Implement green building initiatives, such as LED lighting, solar energy systems, and energy management systems, in line with Dubai's sustainability goals.

8. Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution:

o Provide technical support during installation and commissioning stages, troubleshooting any electrical issues that arise.

o Resolve problems related to electrical installations promptly and efficiently to avoid project delays.

9. Safety Compliance:

o Ensure all electrical work on-site follows stringent safety protocols and local safety standards.

o Conduct regular safety checks to ensure electrical installations are safe for workers and future occupants.

10. Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, installation processes, and any changes made during the project.
• Prepare reports and provide progress updates to project managers, clients, and other stakeholders.

11. Client Interaction & Liaison:

• Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and ensure electrical systems meet their needs.
• Provide regular updates to clients regarding the status of electrical installations and resolve any concerns promptly.

Qualifications

• DM & DEWA approved with G + 4 to G+6 experience
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles
• Experience in project management and overseeing electrical projects
