About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing EV charging infrastructure team. You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining electrical systems for EV charging stations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient charging solutions that meet industry standards and customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design electrical systems and layouts for AC and DC fast-charging stations (Level 2 and Level 3/DCFC)
  • Perform load calculations, site assessments, and power capacity studies for charger installations
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and panel layouts for charging infrastructure projects
  • Coordinate with utility companies on power supply, grid connections, and service upgrades
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes (NEC, IEC, local utility, and EV charging standards such as SAE J1772, CCS, CHAdeMO, or OCPP)
  • Conduct site surveys to evaluate electrical infrastructure feasibility for new charging locations
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of charging stations and associated equipment (transformers, switchgear, conduit, panels)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues with chargers, networking, and power distribution systems
  • Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, and contractors to deliver projects on time and within budget
  • Support integration of charging stations with energy management systems, solar, or battery storage where applicable
  • Prepare technical documentation, permit drawings, and reports for regulatory approval
  • Stay current with evolving EV charging technology, standards, and incentive programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in EV charging, power distribution, or renewable energy
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes (NEC/IEC) and utility interconnection requirements
  • Experience with electrical design software (AutoCAD Electrical, Revit MEP, or similar)
  • Understanding of AC/DC power systems, transformers, and switchgear
  • Familiarity with EV charging standards and protocols (OCPP, J1772, CCS, CHAdeMO)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills
  • Ability to read and interpret site plans, utility drawings, and construction documents

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with EV charging hardware manufacturers (e.g., ChargePoint, ABB, Tesla, EVBox)
  • Knowledge of demand response, load management, and smart charging systems
  • Experience with solar/battery storage integration for charging hubs
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
