Description
Summary/Objective
The Technician is mainly responsible for the execution of projects properly and in a timely manner. Most of the technician’s time is spent in work fields/clients’ premises. This position reports to the Project Engineer and Technical Manager/Operations Manager
Tasks
1. Directly reports to the Project Engineer.
2. Handles delivery activities of contracts and sub contracts as per instructions and in accordance with company procedures.
3. Manages maintenance schedules and attends on-call support through telephone/online. 4. Provides documentations i.e inspection procedures, delivery note and completion certificates.
5. Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
6. Motivates team to work together in the most efficient manner.
7. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
8. Identifies site requirements from tools and installation materials for each job order including estimating costs and timescales.
9. Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures.
10. Encourages technicians and subordinates to take responsibility for their development within the company.
11. Challenges fellow Innovators to progress toward their professional development goals. 12. Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
13. Prepares the project status and completion reports and addresses issues as appropriate.
14. Complies with standard policies and procedures.
Installation-related and Commissioning-related tasks
1. Conducts and leads site installation, termination, inspection, testing and handover as per project plan and when requested by Project Engineer, Project Manager, and/or Operations Manager.
2. Supervises subcontractor on hardware installations and terminations.
3. Liaises with the Project Engineer in the design and execution plan.
4. Liaises with clients’ coordinators, contractors and sub-contractors if/when needed.
5. Ensures safety standards are implemented and followed in accordance with company guidelines.
6. Follows Project Engineer’s instructions on installation activities and System Engineer’s instructions on commissioning activities to ensure all aspects of work are properly delivered.
7. Conducts site system hardware troubleshooting and repairs.
8. Prepares and provides Field service reports. 9. Liaises with the System Engineer in the commissioning plan
