Solar O&M Engineer

About this role:

• Maintenance Planning & Execution

• Plan, coordinate, and execute Preventive Planned Maintenance activities across multiple solar PV sites.

• Attend and resolve Corrective Maintenance requests within agreed SLA/KPI timelines.

• Ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently with minimal system downtime and operational disruption.

• Plant Monitoring & Performance Management

• Monitor solar plant performance, energy generation, inverter status, alarms, and overall system health through monitoring platforms.

• Review generation trends and identify performance gaps, abnormalities, or efficiency losses.

• Support corrective and improvement actions to optimize plant performance, reliability, and energy output.

• Troubleshooting & Technical Resolution

• Conduct technical troubleshooting, fault diagnosis, and root cause analysis for solar PV and electrical system issues.

• Initiate timely corrective actions to restore system performance and reduce repeated failures.

• Escalate recurring faults, system anomalies, technical risks, and operational constraints to management.

• HSE, Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all O&M activities are carried out in line with electrical regulations, permit-to-work requirements, company HSE procedures, and safety standards.

• Promote safe working practices, proper PPE usage, and compliance with site safety requirements.

• Conduct routine inspections of solar modules, inverters, cable management systems, mounting structures, and related electrical components.

• Stakeholder Coordination & Site Supervision

• Coordinate with clients, FM teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of maintenance activities.

• Supervise subcontractors and site teams to ensure work quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with project requirements.

• Attend client and stakeholder meetings to provide technical updates and address operational concerns.

• Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare technical and operational reports covering maintenance activities, system performance, faults, risks, and site updates.

• Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, corrective actions, and performance observations.

• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant reliability, safety, quality, and operational efficiency.

• In addition to all job specific responsibilities, all employees are required to adhere to all Khidmah health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, practices, and relevant legal and statutory health, safety and environmental requirements and obligations. All employees are personally responsible to familiarize themselves with these policies, procedures, practices, updates, etc. Khidmah HSE department regularly updates existing and introduce new policies, procedures and practices and each employee is personally responsible to ensure they stay updated and compliant with all such updates and new additions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in solar PV projects/O&M.
• Valid UAE Driving License.
