Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the UAE/GCC region to lead the design, execution, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems for commercial, residential, industrial, or infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with UAE regulations, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and manage project delivery within budget and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and review electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, grounding, lightning protection, ELV, and fire alarm systems.
• Prepare electrical load calculations, single-line diagrams, cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, and equipment specifications.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and government authorities.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and standards including DEWA, ADDC, SEWA, IEC, IEEE, and NFPA requirements.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical proposals.
• Supervise installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve technical issues during project execution.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and procurement activities.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers, designers, and site engineers.
• Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and project documentation.
• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs and performance.
• Participate in FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests) and SAT (Site Acceptance Tests) when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, with GCC/UAE experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems for building services, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, ETAP, Dialux, MS Office, and other engineering software.
• Familiarity with UAE authority requirements and approval processes.
• Excellent project coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE driving license.
• Membership in professional engineering organizations.
• Experience with BIM coordination and digital engineering tools.
• PMP certification or project management experience.
• Knowledge of renewable energy and energy-efficient design practices.

Typical Duties in Dubai Projects

• Liaise with authorities such as Dubai Electricity and Water Authority for approvals and compliance.
• Coordinate with MEP consultants and contractors during construction phases.
• Ensure adherence to UAE building codes and project specifications.
• Support project delivery across residential towers, commercial buildings, hospitality developments, and infrastructure projects.

Experience Profile

• 8+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Proven track record in design and execution of large-scale projects.
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors.
• Strong understanding of UAE construction practices and authority requirements.
