Electromechanical Engineer

Role Purpose

We are looking for a practical and execution-focused Electromechanical Engineer to manage MEP delivery works for data center projects.

The role covers site execution, MEP fixes, HVAC coordination, main equipment installation support, electrical and mechanical interfaces, inspection readiness, subcontractor coordination, daily progress reporting, and handover support.

This is not a design-office-only role. The engineer must be able to walk the site, understand drawings, identify problems, coordinate solutions, push execution, and close issues with proper documentation.

Key ResponsibilitiesSite Execution and Coordination

• Manage daily MEP site activities for data center delivery works.
• Coordinate HVAC, electrical, mechanical, ELV, BMS, firefighting, containment, and equipment interfaces.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, method statements, ITPs, MIRs, WIRs, RFIs, and material submittals.
• Identify site clashes, missing details, incorrect installations, access issues, and sequencing problems.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, consultants, client representatives, QA/QC, HSE, draftsmen, and project management.
• Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, standards, and project requirements.

HVAC and Main Equipment Works

• Support HVAC installation including ducting, chilled water piping, insulation, supports, equipment installation, valves, drains, access panels, and testing preparation.
• Coordinate main equipment delivery, access route, lifting, positioning, anchoring, clearance verification, and service connections.
• Ensure equipment installation considers maintenance access, safety clearance, cable/piping interfaces, vibration control, drainage, and commissioning requirements.
• Coordinate HVAC interfaces with electrical power, controls, BMS, fire alarm, firefighting, and architectural/structural constraints.
• Site Fixes and Problem Closure
• Inspect site conditions and compare actual installation against drawings and approved details.
• Raise issues clearly with proposed solutions, not only problem statements.
• Coordinate quick site fixes while maintaining approval and documentation discipline.
• Track open issues, blockers, constraints, snags, and closure status.
• Support preparation of sketches, markups, redlines, and instructions for draftsman updates.

Reporting and Documentation

• Prepare daily progress reports with completed works, manpower, materials, blockers, risks, next actions, and photos.
• Maintain inspection readiness for completed works.
• Support WIR/MIR preparation, consultant inspection, snag closure, and handover documentation.
• Ensure redlines and as-built inputs are captured continuously, not only at the end of the project.
• Maintain traceability of changes, approvals, and site instructions.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering.
• 5 to 10 years of MEP site execution experience.
• Experience in data centers, telecom facilities, critical infrastructure, hospitals, airports, industrial buildings, or technical facilities is preferred.
• UAE project experience is preferred.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and electromechanical coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings, SLDs, layouts, schedules, specifications, method statements, and inspection documents.

Required Technical Skills

• HVAC systems, ducting, chilled water piping, equipment installation, supports, insulation, and testing preparation.
• Electrical containment, cable trays, panels, power connections, earthing, and equipment interfaces.
• MEP coordination between mechanical, electrical, ELV, BMS, firefighting, and architectural/structural works.
• Inspection documentation including MIRs, WIRs, ITPs, checklists, RFIs, and snag closure.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Ability to read AutoCAD drawings. AutoCAD editing ability is an advantage.
