Position: Project Engineer
Location: Saudi Arabia (KSA) / UAE
Department: Projects / Operations
Reports To: Project Manager
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to manage and coordinate steel structure, fabrication, and erection activities from project initiation through completion. The candidate will be responsible for planning, execution, client coordination, subcontractor management, quality control, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key ResponsibilitiesProject Execution & Coordination
- Manage day-to-day project activities and site operations.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments.
- Ensure project execution is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential delays or risks.
- Attend project meetings and represent the company in technical discussions.
Planning & Scheduling
- Review project schedules and monitor progress against baseline programs.
- Coordinate with Planning Engineers to update project timelines and recovery plans.
- Ensure timely mobilization of manpower, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Track project milestones and report progress to management.
Technical Management
- Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and construction details.
- Coordinate design clarifications and technical queries with consultants and clients.
- Ensure proper implementation of approved drawings and specifications at site.
- Verify quantities, material requirements, and work scope.
Site Management
- Supervise site engineers, supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, and labor teams.
- Monitor steel structure erection, fabrication, installation, and related construction activities.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements and work procedures.
- Coordinate inspections and approvals with consultants and clients.
Commercial & Contract Administration
- Monitor project costs and resource utilization.
- Review variations, additional works, and change orders.
- Coordinate with Quantity Surveyors for progress claims and subcontractor payments.
- Assist in preparation of project reports and cost forecasts.
Quality Assurance & Handover
- Ensure compliance with project quality standards and specifications.
- Coordinate WIRs, MIRs, inspections, and testing activities.
- Monitor NCR closure and corrective actions.
- Support project close-out and final handover documentation.
HSE Compliance
- Ensure compliance with project HSE requirements and company safety standards.
- Coordinate with HSE personnel to maintain a safe working environment.
- Promote safety awareness and compliance among site personnel.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in Construction, Structural Steel, Industrial, or Infrastructure Projects.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Engineer managing site execution.
- Experience in steel fabrication, structural steel erection, warehouses, industrial buildings, and PEB projects is highly preferred.
- GCC/KSA/UAE experience preferred.
