Landscape Quantity SurveyorJob Summary
PTWL is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Landscape Quantity Surveyor to manage quantity surveying, cost control, payment certifications, variations, and financial reporting for landscaping projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting projects from tender stage through to final account settlement, ensuring accurate cost management and commercial control throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesQuantity Surveying & Cost Management
- Perform accurate quantity take-offs from drawings and project documents using approved methods of measurement.
- Prepare and develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) in accordance with project drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Manage cost planning, budgeting, and forecasting from tender stage through project completion.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure alignment with approved budgets and cost plans.
- Develop rates and pricing for non-tendered items, additional works, and scope changes.
- Assist in value engineering initiatives and cost optimization strategies.
Payments, Valuations & Variations
- Prepare and submit monthly interim payment applications to clients.
- Measure, price, and submit variation orders and change requests for client approval.
- Prepare payment certificates, variation statements, and supporting commercial documentation.
- Evaluate and certify subcontractor payment applications in accordance with contract requirements.
- Prepare final account statements and support project close-out procedures.
Procurement & Subcontract Management
- Prepare tender packages and subcontract documentation for landscaping and specialized construction works.
- Obtain quotations from suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of received quotations.
- Assist in the selection and appointment of subcontractors within approved project budgets.
- Support procurement activities by providing quantity and cost-related information.
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Monitor project costs and provide regular cost reports to management.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor commitments.
- Analyze project performance against budget and identify potential cost risks.
- Generate monthly progress reports, cost analysis reports, and commercial summaries.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support project and management decision-making.
Contract Administration
- Review project contracts, specifications, and commercial terms to ensure compliance.
- Maintain records of contractual correspondence, variations, claims, and project financial documentation.
- Assist in the resolution of commercial and contractual issues during project execution.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of quantity measurements, valuations, cost reports, and project documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards.
- Support internal audits and commercial reviews as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in quantity surveying within the landscaping, construction, or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong experience in quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation is mandatory.
- Good understanding of construction project management and commercial processes.
- Knowledge of cost planning, contract administration, variation management, and project budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with quantity surveying software and ERP systems is an advantage.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
