As we expand into fully integrated mobile control room and command center solutions, we are seeking an experienced Electrical & Power Systems Engineer to lead the design, engineering, and integration of electrical and power systems for these specialized units.
Role Overview
The Electrical & Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical engineering of mobile control room modules, including electrical load analysis, power generation, battery storage systems, solar integration, HVAC coordination, and compliance with international standards. The role involves designing hybrid power systems utilizing diesel generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and shore power connections to ensure reliable 24/7 operation in mission-critical environments.
The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical, design, production, and project teams to deliver turnkey mobile control room solutions that meet client requirements and comply with European and GCC standards.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Design & Power Engineering
· Perform detailed electrical load calculations and power demand analysis for mobile control room systems, including:
o IT and AV equipment
o Operator workstations
o Video walls
o Communication systems
o Lighting systems
o HVAC systems
o Auxiliary equipment
· Develop comprehensive electrical load schedules and power balance calculations.
· Design and specify low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including:
o Switchboards
o Distribution boards
o MCCs
o UPS systems
o PDUs
o Cabling and protection systems
· Perform cable sizing, voltage drop calculations, short-circuit analysis, and protection coordination studies.
· Design AC and DC electrical distribution systems for mobile and off-grid applications.
· Develop redundancy concepts (N, N+1, or 2N) for mission-critical operational environments.
Hybrid Power Systems
· Design and integrate hybrid power systems comprising:
o Diesel generators
o Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
o Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems
o Inverters and chargers
o Shore power connections
o Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
· Size and specify diesel generators based on operating loads and redundancy requirements.
· Calculate battery autonomy requirements and specify battery storage systems for continuous operation during power outages.
· Size and specify solar PV systems, MPPT charge controllers, hybrid inverters, and energy management systems.
· Develop power management strategies to optimize:
o Generator runtime
o Fuel consumption
o Battery utilization
o Solar energy harvesting
· Design automatic source transfer and load management systems between utility power, generator, battery, and solar sources.
HVAC & Environmental Systems
· Coordinate HVAC load calculations and support the specification of:
o Precision air conditioning units
o CRAC systems
o Ventilation systems
o Environmental monitoring systems
· Evaluate heat loads generated by IT, AV, and communication equipment.
· Ensure electrical and cooling systems are properly coordinated for reliable operation.
Engineering Documentation
· Prepare and review:
o Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs)
o Electrical Schematics
o Power Distribution Diagrams
o Generator and Battery System Diagrams
o Solar PV Integration Diagrams
o Control and Interlock Diagrams
