We are urgently looking to hire an Awards Executive/ Manager who will be responsible for the full cycle of Awards Management and Analysis and assesment of organizations.

Required Experience

  • 1–6+ years in media, research, editorial governance, or institutional evaluation
  • Direct experience with publication-led awards, rankings, indices, or recognitions
  • Any experience in Financial Analysis of Companies is a plus
  • Strong understanding of: Financial services, Corporate governance, Institutional credibility
  • Proven ability to say “no” to pressure—internally and externally

Role Purpose ({Please read this carefully before applying)

The Head of Magazine Awards owns, governs, and executes all awards conferred by Global Banking & Finance Review.
This role exists to protect credibility, enforce editorial independence, and ensure awards are research-driven, defensible, and globally respected.

This is not an events role.
This is not sales or partnerships.
This is not marketing.

This is a governance and decision-making role inside a publication.

Core Responsibilities

1. Awards Governance & Integrity (Non-Negotiable)

  • Own the entire awards framework end-to-end
  • Define and enforce:
  • Eligibility criteria
  • Category definitions
  • Evaluation methodology
  • Conflict-of-interest rules
  • Act as final custodian of editorial independence
  • Ensure awards are:
  • Evidence-based
  • Research-backed
  • Consistent year-on-year

2. Research & Evaluation Leadership

  • Lead the awards research function
  • Oversee:
  • Market research
  • Desk research
  • Company performance analysis
  • Regulatory, financial, and reputational checks
  • Validate all award outcomes with documented rationale
  • Ensure every award decision can withstand:
  • Media scrutiny
  • Legal scrutiny
  • Industry challenge

3. Jury & Decision Framework

  • Design and manage:
  • Internal evaluation committees
  • External advisory panels (where applicable)
  • Define scoring models and weighting systems
  • Ensure no single individual controls outcomes unilaterally
  • Document decision trails for auditability

4. Awards Programme Ownership

  • Own all awards cycles:
  • Annual
  • Regional
  • Country-specific
  • Approve:
  • Category launches and retirements
  • Award titles and taxonomy
  • Winner announcements
  • Coordinate with editorial, production, and digital teams for execution (without surrendering control)

Stakeholder Interface (Controlled, Not Commercial)

  • Act as the editorial authority when interacting with:
  • Senior executives
  • Institutions
  • Regulators (where relevant)
  • Clarify methodology—not negotiate outcomes
  • Maintain strict separation from:
  • Sales
  • Sponsorship
  • Commercial discussions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
